Responding to the urgent call of the people, the National Leader Heydar Aliyev returned to Baku and was elected Chairman of the Supreme Soviet, marking the beginning of Azerbaijan’s salvation and development. This pivotal step protected the country from fragmentation, laid the foundation of statehood, and became the ultimate guarantee of future stability.
