Kyrgyzstan is gearing up for the launch of a groundbreaking floating solar power station, as announced by the country’s Ministry of Energy. The pilot project, spearheaded by “Chakan HPP” JSC, is set to be implemented at the daily regulation pool of the HPP-5, utilizing grant funds provided by the Asian Development Bank.
As per the ministry’s statement, significant progress has been achieved in the construction of this solar station. The assembly of the primary equipment and components is now complete, featuring a floating section with a capacity of 95 kW and a ground-based section with a capacity of 5 kW, both aligned with the project’s specifications. Additionally, experts have successfully installed the connection panel to the transformer substation and laid power cables.
