The Kyrgyzstan-Finland Business Forum 2023, organized by the National Investment Agency under the President of Kyrgyzstan and supported by the UNDP’s “Trade Promotion” project, funded by the Government of Finland, recently concluded in Bishkek. The event shed light on the promising investment landscape in Kyrgyzstan, attracting foreign investors’ attention and highlighting the nation’s commitment to fostering a welcoming environment for international business initiatives.<\/p>\n

Mr. Edil Baisalov, representing the National Investment Agency, expressed Kyrgyzstan’s openness to foreign investors during the event. He stated, “In 2022, Kyrgyzstan’s exports to Finland amounted to $112,000, with imports reaching $3.5 million. We have foreign investors operating in Kyrgyzstan, and the country is always ready to welcome new entrepreneurs. We wholeheartedly support the initiatives and projects of foreign investors and are prepared to provide maximum assistance in their successful implementation.”<\/p>\n

Finland’s Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan, Ms. Soili M\u00e4kel\u00e4inen-Buchanister, emphasized the significance of UNDP projects like “Trade Promotion” in embodying Finnish values of inclusivity, sustainable development, and partnership. She remarked, “In partnership with the Government of Finland, UNDP assists the Kyrgyz Republic in creating an environment where businesses can thrive and contribute to sustainable development.”<\/p>\n

During the forum, the National Investment Agency presented attendees with insights into Kyrgyzstan’s favorable investment climate, protection of foreign investors’ private capital, and ongoing enhancements to the investment management system.<\/p>\n

The event concluded with both sides expressing their readiness for long-term and mutually beneficial collaboration between Kyrgyzstan and Finland. Importantly, representatives from more than ten Finnish companies engaged in productive bilateral meetings during the forum.<\/p>\n

The Kyrgyzstan-Finland Business Forum 2023 serves as a testament to Kyrgyzstan’s commitment to nurturing international business relationships and attracting investments, and it reaffirms the shared aspirations of both nations for a prosperous economic partnership. With these efforts, Kyrgyzstan continues to unlock its potential as an attractive investment destination in Central Asia.<\/p>\n
